Exhibitions & Tradeshows
Developing and launching B2B exhibitions across key sectors
Streamline has built up a reputable and enviable track record for producing high quality international exhibitions and trade shows across the Middle East, where face-to-face contact is a priority. Using a pool of talented individuals from within the Streamline Group, the team provides complete turn-key management of shows from initial conceptualisation and market research to international promotion and event logistics, with particular focus on providing added value through our tailored Pre-Scheduled Meeting (PSM) programmes and various Hosted Buyer initiatives.
All the shows we organise are the “definitive” events in their sector within our region – with some being the market leading events in Asia, such as the world renowned Airport Show, becoming the most important industry event of its kind in the world. Since our launch in 1997, Streamline has produced prestigious exhibitions such as The Hotel Show, The Equestrian Show, The Airport Show, Big 5 PMV, the Middle East Police & Law Enforcement Exhibition, FM Expo, Global Space and Satellite Forum and Commercial Vehicles Middle East.
Throughout our history we have been proactive in developing many ideas and proposals for exhibition launches, and this still continues today. We have always encouraged our staff to be creative and identify potential launches, giving them the tools, support, freedom and financial incentives necessary to succeed. We operate within a wide range of important industries, including:
|
Building and Construction |
|

Re-branded from 'Airport Build & Supply Exhibition’ incorporating Ground Handling Middle East, Air Traffic Control Middle East, Aviation Security Middle East.
Launched in 2000 and organised by Streamline for 8 years, The Airport Show is one of the largest airport construction, operations, technology and services events in the world. The exhibition was sold to Reed Exhibitions in mid-2008 to be included in their leading Aerospace & Aviation portfolio. The 9th edition of the event took place from 19 – 21 May 2009 and attracted over 4,700 visitors from 60 countries over 3 days and more than 210 exhibitors from 30 countries took part. The Airport Show profile includes everything that goes into the building and supplying of new and existing airports, from baggage handling & radar systems, to interiors and building supplies. Achievement: the largest airport exhibition in the world after InterAirport Europe.
Launched in 2002 and driven by one of the world’s highest disposable incomes, Lifestyles was a 2-day event running alongside the final leg of the UIM Class 1 Dubai Offshore Powerboat Championship. Inspired by both the prestige and the extraordinary pace of World Offshore Powerboat Racing as well as the racing fraternity that surrounds it, Lifestyles provided a glamorous social occasion for the affluent and aspirational families of Dubai and beyond. Set within the idyllic lawns of Dubai International Marine Club the Lifestyles weekend was an alluring combination of a Formula 1 sport and a spectacular social occasion…unrivalled and unforgettable! Lifestyles ran successfully for 2 years.
APEX 2007 was a highly focused B2B forum designed to facilitate the substantial and rapidly growing procurement requirements of the Middle East’s booming civil aviation sector. The three day event in Abu Dhabi was specifically targeted to complement existing regional aviation exhibitions and conventions and was structured to maximise opportunities for participants to interface with buyers. Complementing the exhibition, APEX 2007 incorporated other important components including pre-scheduled appointments with the sponsoring organisations’ procurement decision makers, conference, workshops and other activities designed to ensure maximum benefit for participants.
FM Expo was launched in 2005 and has become the leading event for the Facilities Management industry in the Middle East. Sold to DMG in 2009, FM Expo is a niche show which features products and services for the management and maintenance of commercial, industrial & institutional properties. Visitors to the expo find everything for facilities management including: security products, energy management services, access control systems, pest control, plumbing, lighting solutions, software providers, waste management, maintenance products, cleaning solutions and full integrated facilities management service providers.
Textile Events LLC was formed in 2004 with DMG and Turret Group for the 2005 launch of this niche tradeshow in Dubai and another in New Delhi in 2006. Textile Expo Dubai 2005 presented the entire range of textile machinery and accessories from manufacturers worldwide while Textile Expo India specifically focused on the non-wovens sector. The launch edition in Dubai sold 1700 sqm net but due to unusually high management & space costs the show was not run again and a decision made to look at the event again once the new Jebel Ali venue is complete. Turret has since left the J/V.
Under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum and fully supported by the UAE Equestrian & Racing Federation, ‘The Equestrian Show’ was held alongside the US$15 million ‘Dubai World Cup’ at the picturesque Nad Al Sheba Racecourse, showcasing a wide range of equestrian products & services from bedding and riding equipment to fencing and veterinary supplies. The show was run profitably twice, in support of the Dubai World Cup 2001 & 2002, however due to inadequate venue facilities we mutually decided to discontinue.
‘The Hotel Show’ is the region’s premier industry showcase for the booming hotel construction sector. Launched by Streamline in 2000 as Hotel Build 2000 and re-branded the following year as The Hotel Show, the exhibition was sold in 2001 after one edition to DMG World Media Ltd. on a 3 year earn out. Achievement: managed to navigate through disasters such as the SARS epidemic, Sept 11th and the Gulf War to build a 7000 sqm net show in 4 years.
A unique biennial event held in 2005 bringing together professionals from the logistics, courier, mail, customs, storage and freight industries re-branded as Mail, Courier & Express Expo (MACE) with the next event planned at the DWTC in 2009. The gap between events was requested by the patron Emirates Post as they contracted SM Events to organise the United Nations “UPU Strategy Conference” for 1500 people in 2006 and we organised Emirates Post's 10 year anniversary in 2008 and helped them with their IPO.
Under the patronage of H.H General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the first two editions of the biennial MEPLEX (Middle East Police & Law Enforcement Exhibition) were held at the Dubai Police Academy in 2002 & 2004, showcasing the latest technology, products & services in law enforcement, security, intelligence services, emergency reaction services & policing. An accompanying conference, workshop & demonstrations program was carefully structured to offer a complete training and guidance event. Despite yielding profits from inception, there were too many problems related to the DWTC and its profile protection policies that MEPLEX has been put ‘on hold’ until the right venue is indentified.
Commissioned by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and the Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority, this successful trade exhibition of UAE-based companies was first held in Tripoli, Libya in 2000 after UN sanctions were lifted. Another successful show was held in 2005 after US sanctions had been lifted and Libyan trade relations with the rest of the world improved. As a result, Streamline has been requested to organise a similar show in 2010.
Streamline's first exhibition was held in April 1998, commissioned and supported by the Dubai Government. The 'Magic World Build & Supply Exhibition' was an exclusive showcase of international contractors and suppliers interested in tendering for the 'Magic World' theme park project contracts. During this ‘one-off’ commercial event, international companies had the opportunity to exhibit their products, services and technologies and meet directly with International Bechtel Co. Ltd. and Dubai Government officials to review design, construction and procurement requirements before final bids were tendered. Achievement: 120 exhibitors brought in by 3 staff in 7 months.
The Commercial Vehicles Business Group is helping the local Commercial Vehicles community to connect, share ideas and voice opinions. Launched by Streamline Marketing, in association with CILT, the CVME Business Group is the first of its kind in the UAE.
